I think you'll like it. I don't have much care for strikers but that's a decent gun. I bought an SW9VE for my dad and the trigger was very heavy. I think the SD's are a bit lighter, but not aware of any other changes if there are any. Really love the slides on those guns. They look much more appealing in person than in a picture on the internet. Comfortable to shoot, too.

I carry an sd9ve. I picked it up for 350 with iwb and I've loved it. Mostly because of the price. I like the heavy trigger because it is a designed self defense/carry gun

My first thought in that price range would be a Ruger LCR, LCP or LC9. Quality manufacturer and poplar guns. If you prefer metal to plastic you can get the S&W 642 or 638 for about $400. After that I'd take s look at police trade ins. Some great buys can be had there. Glocks are very popular trade ins and last almost forever with proper maintenance.

Great gun, priced fairly, and new enough that you can't find them easily unless you want to pay over MSRP on gunbroker. I've shot both the 9 & 40 quite a bit and will have one of my own at some point. I got tired of waiting around though and picked up the XDs on Monday.

I would go with either the Beretta Nano or the S&W M&P Shield. Both are very reliable and are right at your price point.

The ruger lc9 is great and u can find one with laser for around $350. Only issue is the trigger pull which I believe you can have adjusted.

Buy a CZ82 for right around $250 and you'll never look back! I own many pistols, in all flavors, but for comfort, accuracy, and dependability I carry a CZ 82.....when I carry. I own 4 btw that's how much I like them.

Lots of answers, lots of opinions. What I carry every day is a Taurus Millenium PRO in .45ACP. Fits and rides comfortable in my Cross Breed holster, and easy to clean, and quite reliable. Best shooter and the gun I really love is my SIG Saure SP2022. However it is heavier and bulkier to carry around than my Taurus .45 ACP. Either of those should cost under $400.00 www.taurus45acp.com is my web site for a bit more quick information on Taurus.

I have three carry guns. They range from a S&W .380 Bodyguard to a .40 S&W Charter Arms Pitbull. It just depends on where I am going and what I am wearing to cover up. My favorite is a 12 oz S&W J frame magnum.
A lot of people have been critical of the Bodyguard but I never have had any issues and for concealability, it is the smallest gun that I have. Mine is accurate (despite the trigger) and is reliable.
