I love my xdm.40 better safety , match barrel great bore radius . Comes with 3 different sets of grips to fit ur hand best you cant go wrong with Springfield plus they look bad ass

I won't own another xd. I had feeding issues with reloads. Good reloads at that. So did a friend of mine. With xd. The glocks grip is angled just a bit for less slam on the wrist. And my glocks ain't a blocky as my xd.

My glock has a hell of a lot more recoil than my XD. But that is .40 (glock) compared to .45 (XD). I have never had any feeding issues with my XD or my glock. And that's with all kinds of ammo.

I own one glock and will never own another. There is nothing good about an unsupported chamber IMO. If you reload glocked brass more than three times your just asking for it. But on the same note I will never give up my glock tho. I have a love hate relation ship with it. But mostly I just love to hate it. XD's are blocky but at least they aren't Glocky.

The reason the glock has a floating barrel is for easy feeding. Makes things smooth.. I had an xd 45 and hated it. To much recoil to the hand. My 1911 smooth and perfect.

I own a XDm 45 myself, and it's my SHTF pistol for sure. The list of "M" factors is terrific too.

What size was your XD. Mine is the XD 45sm. I have shot 9mm's with more recoil than my XD. My wife shoots it with one hand and loves it.
When you say floating barrel are you talking about when the barrel angles up at the muzzle when the slide is back? (XD's do that also)

The XD dose have a higher bore access tho. This dose result in more muzzle flip. You would thank a glock with a lower bore access would push more into your hand than a XD would. I'm not trying to say you don't know what you are doing or anything. But were you holding the gun correctly at the time?
