Glock vs XD

I am trying to decide on a glock or an XD. Which has a better service record and reliability ?

I have both, both shoot straight, both are easy to clean and maintain.

Fondle each liberally, shoot various models of each, decide which you like.

Some folks like the additional grip safety of the XD.

Either will be good choice.

Are you deliberately whacking the hornets nest?

Aw Heck, the last Glock thread went so well, let's get another one going ;)

Both are excellent. It will very likely come down to personal preference.

Thank you. I have an XD And i love it. I have shot the glock. Most of the guys I hang with have a glock. Just trying to decide weather I should follow the mold or stick with what I already know.

Other than peer pressure, do you have any tangible reason to want to switch? Been getting jams, having problems with accuracy, finding mags becoming a problem or way more expensive than Glock?

If not, why take a loss on one used pistol to buy another that is so similar?

The XD fits my hand better than the Gen 3 Glock and to me fit means a lot. I have not had a chance to handle a Gen 4 with the smaller grip. Go with what feels best to you in the hand. A natural fit and point will let you shoot quicker and more accurately.
