Stop fighting.
You imply that you already own (or were issued) a Glock. If you've seen one Glock, you've seen them all. It's not like they come in a lot of cool colors. Life is short, broaden your horizons and get a 1911. I doubt you will regret it. If you do, you can always trade down to another Glock later.

Let's see......
"glock leg" - YEP
"1911 leg" - NOPE
I'd go with the 1911.

I have had and sold a g21. Was a sad day for me. With the cost of ammo I couldn't shoot as much as I wanted. I had always wanted a 1911 but couldn't get off the cash to buy one. I ended up getting a great deal on a Springfield RO and all it took was one magazine and I was HOOKED. I will never buy another Glock. I do think it is a fantastic weapon but it is not a 1911. In my opinion there is nothing better. I ended up getting into reloading by the way that's how I can shoot what I like.

By the way, after owning a 1911, I will not ever have another problem getting of the cash for another. Well worth the extra time to save the cash for a work of art. Working on saving now for a Colt defender as we speak, after I complete the AR build that is!

Yeah I'm with overkill. If you already have one or more glocks, spand out and try something new. It's not like you're testing uneasy waters, you know 1911's are great guns.
That being said, your basically saying should I buy a Honda or a sportscar? You're giving one brand, and then a type of handgun. I would narrow your results to a few companies that make 1911's and then make the decision. Personally, I'd much rather pack heat with a 1911 then something from rubbermaid.

Well, yes and no.

Glock is a brand that was the first of it's type. Lots of copycats now, but Glock was the first of the polymer type.
