Glock 19
I have a chance to trade my gen 2 Glock 19 (really great shape), 3- 15 round mags and 1- 10 round mag, plus 300 round of target ammo for a Taurus PT1911, LNIB, 2- 8 round mags. Not that familiar with the Taurus. Good deal???

I'm no fan of Glock so I would do that deal BUT i'm not you and in the end YOU gotta make that decision, also just be aware that Taurus tends to be hit or miss with the QC so tread with caution, take the time and do your research and good luck with your decision good sir

Like he said, those two pistols are so completely different that only you can make that decision. I don't own my Taurus 1911 any more, but I have a G19 and will never part with it. It's a GREAT carry pistol.

Some things for you to think about...the 1911 retails more than the glock...the 1911 has better resale value than the glock, their are unlimited things that you can do to a 1911... IMO i would make the trade.. Even if you want to get another g19 in the future they are out there everywhere and at cheap prices...alot cheaper than wat you would pay for the 1911

I have had my Glock many years. I have no problems with it. A good carry. I really want a carry .45 acp. I don't have $1000 + . I am a lefty, and would like something ambi. I just thought, money wise, it would be a trade up and get me closer to what I am looking for.

Then there you go, it would be a good decision... And like i said G19s are out there everywhere so you could find one anytime u feel the need to own another one I have a G31 which has given me several years of loyal service and i also have a 1911 which i love to death... The 1911 would be a good trade in my eyes

I think every glock owner should trade their gastons' for a Taurus!

There are LOTS of used PT1911s out there also, because many use them as trade fodder. The Taurus might cure your 1911 itch temporarily, but you'll be looking for one of better quality and reliability sooner than later.

Taurus can be hit or miss. I had a 24/7 9mm compact that ran flawlessly. Over 1,000 rds and ate everything I threw at her. My G17 I've put over 2,000 rds since January w/no problems. Keep your Glock bro. Save up or do a better trade. You can get a Springfield G.I. new for about $600 which IMHO would be better than the PT1911. New parkerized Sig for about $750. If you have the itch to trade, look around, you should even be able pick up a used Springfield Loaded for about $700 or a G.I. for around $500. Not knocking Taurus by any means at all, just not a fan of their 1911's. Too many friends with them that have not been happy.

I would keep the glock and save up for a better 1911 if thats what ur looking for. If you are looking for a carry 45 there are also tons of other choices out there also. I have a glock 30 that i carry. Subcompact 45 10+1 with hornaday critical defencse in a fobus elite conceal. Shoots great super accurate and extremely reliable
