I shot one of those S&W 629 Classic in .44 Magnum that belonged to a friend from work. Lots of fun to shoot.

Well gee, i've only shot maybe a dozen different handguns in my life. I only currently own two with access to another not owned by me. I really enjoyed my AMT .22 lightning target pistol in my youth, but my XD45 has been lots of fun & really fits my hand well. The snubby .38 wasn't meant to be liked, only used & then only when really needed.
So, XD45 with the 5" barrel would be my choice, currently.

uberti 1858 remington 44 is my favorite gun to shoot. I have other handguns that fire cartridge ammunition but for some reason I get a kick out of my black powder pistol. lots of smoke and accurate as heck

But in all my years, I've never had an opportunity to actually fire a 1911.
