Experienced caliber help!

Okay guys. Last gun I buy for this year at least. It boiled down to one that I wanted ever since I layed my hands on one. I'm going to go with the sig p226 or 229. Doesn't really matter which one. Whatever I can get a better deal on I guess. NOW the real question is 9mm or 40cal. I need some input on this. Shot both. Like both. Have a 22,9mm,38sp/357mag,45. I like the nine and that is my sleep next to gun for now. Would use the G21 but don't want to shoot my sleeping daughter through a wall. I will be using the sig for everything. Plinking, sleep next to gun, conceal (whenever IL gets it). I want this to be my all around defense weapon. Mainly because I'm not buying anymore for a while. So what do you guys think. SERIOUS ONLY. Should I stick with a 9mm sig sauer or go for the 40cal. Would u guys that r experienced in this stuff feel better with a 40. Thanks.

my personal opinion:

i would choose a 9mm over a 40 any day if your not going 45acp. sig recently changed the grip on the p22x series and some folks like it some dont. im one of the folks that dont like the new grip.

9mm or 40... i choose 9mm since there isnt a ton of diff tween the two other than a bit more muzzle flip and recoil on the 40 with very very little performance difference making the 40 a slower to get followups on. so if i would go with a higher capacity 9mm over a 40 anyday.

that being said my preferred round is the 45acp.

i would suggest checking out the springfield xdm i like it better than the newer sigs. in 9mm they are 19+1 and its hard to beat that much firepower in a comfy easy to use handgun

Its all personal preference on the round you carry. The 9mm is smaller in size but has excellent penetration. The 40 cal is bigger and has more potential stopping power. But with proper shot placement both are fine rounds. I trust my life to either of them.

I would get the 9mm to keep the ammunition stocks simpler.

There really is nothing wrong with either one, but my personal preference, between these two, would be to go with capacity. So which one holds more boolits?

Stay with the 9 mike mike, why add another caliber?

Besides, the 40 S&W (I call it the 10mm Lite) is so 20 minutes ago.

OR, you could go with the 9mm with a short temper and bad attitude...otherwise known as the .357sig

I actually laughed when i read "when IL gets it". Good luck! I hope they do though...
Stick with the 9mm.

I would like a 357 sig but never shot one and that ammo is expensive. I know 40 is too. How do 357sigs kick?

Aaah.. bout like a .40,they are a little peppy but still really controllable. I love mine, but your right, the ammo is a little pricey
