EAA Witness help

I have posted this on another board I am normally on but I thought you guys might be able to help out alittle.

I have a Witness with the serial number AE 11107. In my research I see the AE designation as made in 1979 but I have been informed EAA as a company is not that old. I am trying to find the manufature date and the guns value.

The pistol is stamped made in Italy and says nothing about Florida at all.

Here are acouple of pics if it helps at all.

Your homework is correct. EAA imports firearms. And this is one they started with.

Even Walmart has a book on Gun Values. Are you looking to sell? You can check on-line auctions (i.e. Guns - Online Gun Auction - Guns for Sale at GunBroker.com) and see how much these are going for.

I was getting ready to strip the pistol to duracoat it and do some other mods. I was talking to a friend about it and he thought the pistol was too valueable to mess with. He thought it was a $1k or more setup.

I thought I would do my homework before going to far.

Nice gun, I'd like to hear a range report on this one.

EAA said made in 1992.

With no aftermarket support and the only thing "extra" I can buy is mags I think I will just put it back in the box and leave it alone.

I can do that for you.

What would you like to know? Anything specific?

I can say that I have never had a single problem with it so far. it cycles and fires everytime.

Is it the double action model?

Yes its a DA

In my research I found out that on the Witness a straight trigger is SA and a curved trigger is DA. In case you want to know just by sight.

Whats the pull like compared to a DA Smith or Ruger?

Also, Is it hard to transition from DA to SA?
