Hey guys, I am a very proud owner of a Magnum Reasearch Desert Eagle Mark VII in 44 magnum. I want to see if anyone knows about upgrading the firearm to 50AE. I have heard that with the Mark XIX guns all that is needed is a new barrel and mag. Is this also true for the Mark VII?

yes but you should get new springs every 250-500 rounds of 50AE they wear out FAST. i would recomend starting fresh with new springs when you get the barrel and mag. round count is very important as you can damage the gun with weak worn springs.

Thanks for the info JonM. How often should I change the springs with the .44 mag? What model DE do you have?

mkVII. i change recoil springs every 500 rounds. but the wife and i dont shoot it a lot. the springs wear out fast.
