Texaswood, you have described the .45 Winchester Magnum. This Big rimless case carries magnum charges and will push a big .45 slug to .44 Mag. speeds. This LAR Grizz also coverts to .357 in minutes.

Y'all think a 9mm case necked down to 7.62 mm (30 caliber) make a mighty varmint ammo?

You are close to the 7.62X25 Russian Tok. pistol and subgun Ctg. This round will run a 98 gr. slug at 1,500 fps. from a handgun.

Im thinking something with a case little longer than 9mm but necked down to a 8mm... To be shot out of something that looks like a Ruger Mark series pistol...

Wow, that was close, so there's such a beast.

Yes it is fun to take a CZ 52 pistol and hot rod the 7.62X25 Tokarev round. The CZ52 a little crude but very strong roller lock actions. It is easy to make the brass from .223 Remington brass. People who spend time pushing these rounds past the 2,000 fps range are called "Tokanuts"

I am so excited I can't even begin to explain to you guys. If I qualify, I can carry the MK 12 or M27 IAR on my next deployment. So I'm going to be gone for a few weeks after Friday for this class because it starts Monday, so I wanted to leave you guys with a question for debate while I'm gone.

If you could create a round for a semi-automatic handgun, with any characteristics such as caliber, penetration, size, weight, anything; what would you create? Something in between a .380 and 9mm? Heavier than a 338 lapua?

You tell me? I'll check back till Friday at 0900 but then I gotta catch a flight.

Anyone gunna miss me?
I reckon I would do a 44mag necked down to 7.62 with an approximate 30 degree shoulder. I'm sure it would take a stranger feed ramp set up, but...

The 10mm Magnum case necked down to 9mm. 147 gr bullets at 2000 fps. Call it the 9 X 31. Stuff it into a custom STI double stack 6". Capacity of 20 rds with extended base plates.

I want a 10 mm magnum. Call it 10mmm or 10m3. Push a 165 gr out there at close to 2000 fps would be super sweet! Might as well throw some sort of ballistic tipped, AP, incendiary etc...projectiles in the mix, all at the cost of a squirt gun.

...and free ammo for life
