Conceal carry .45

I have a glock 19 that I like well enough, and I was all set to pick up a glock 30 for my first concealed carry gun (just mailed the packet away for my permit). On a whim I rented a .45 XD at the range the other day and now the trigger on the glock feels like garbage to me. The XD also had really good ergonomics, but the slide seemed so huge I wasn't crazy about it. Can anyone suggest some alternatives? I'm planning on trying to handle a s&w m&p and a s&w 99 also in .45. I'm open to other suggestions, including fixing up the glock's trigger.

Any compact 1911 recommendations? I know Kimber has a few, and para has the slim hawg? What do you guys like?

my favorite ccw compact 1911 is the colt new agent. extremely slim very lightweight 7+1 capacity and still can use any full size magazine.

the colt defender is a little thicker in grip and a little heavier.

either is hands down the best ccw compact 1911

3 months ago I bought a Kimber Raptor Pro II, and use it as my carry. I shoot slot and in that time I shot 1200 rounds. After 800, the recoil spring became finicky where it would not reset 100%. I just replaced the springs and took it to my range. Factory shot no problem, but my reloads would not eject occasionally...almost the opposite where the spring needs to be utilized more. I hear the smaller 1911s have similar issues. I already decided that my next carry would be a full size. Not too much of a difference how I carry.

as a 1911 guy and also a xdm 9 owner, you cant go wrong with a quality compact 1911, the thinness and feel is unmatched IMO, but if you dont wanna drop a crazy amount of cash... check out those new single stack 45 xds that Springfield either came out with or is releasing in the near future, while the thicker slide may not be the be much different if any than the regular sub xd 45 i have to say it looks like a winner its definitely slimmed down and looks very comfortable. i have fairly small hands so smaller grips dont bother me as much as some, plus you also get the grip angle of the 1911 with the xd which i really like, i have been nothing but impressed by the xd series and the full size xdm in 9mm that i have is a dream to shoot, if a compact "slimmer" .45 is what your lookin for id definitely check it out

Springfield make a nice set of compact 1911's. Beautiful guns. ATI has one that is not to bad either. Much cheaper too.
