Isn't the Cougar the one with the rotating barrel. Take in account (if it is), the additional wear on the channel used to rotate the barrel. Normal life could exceed 5,000 rounds.

My competition guns have all been setup to keep wear to a minimum (due to lack of funds at the time). Small parts were always at hand. I've shot Glock, Browning HP, and Beretta. I've been DQ'd for a broken gun that went full auto. DNF's because of broken guns in the beginning were frustrating.

I (finally) watched what worked for others, and listened to the people who had more experience and applied what I learned. I'm just trying to save you some frustration.

Whatever you get, practice, practice, practice. IDPA is more that just standing 15 yards from a target in an upright position.

Of the choices you have given us (Bersa or Cougar), the Cougar would be better IMO.

Have you looked at the S&W Sigma? If there is an Academy Sports store in your area, they have them with (I think) a $50 rebate. For IDPA, you should have at least 3 magazines for your handgun (even more would be better), magazine carriers, holster, and a good belt, ear and eye protection.

Good luck.

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

Default Comedian Drew

Comedian Drew Carey has offered ideas for economic reform to skeptical leaders in his hometown of Cleveland.

The host of "The Price is Right" met with city council members Thursday in a freewheeling debate that mostly analyzed the city's many problems, from its decaying infrastructure to underperforming schools.
Last month, Carey argued for less government, more competition, lower taxes and changes to schools in a series of 10-minute online videos about Cleveland.
Some council members defended the city, saying Carey is proposing simplistic solutions to very complex problems. Carey says he's not suggesting his ideas are a quick fix.
But he says: "Whatever combination you have here in Cleveland just isn't cutting it."
