Fast forward to the M&P... and think I Pod.

Yeah... They both do the same thing but the later is MUCH MUCH better

Tack
I don't think they are that far removed. More like 8 track and cassette or record album vs. compact disc.

Semantics my friend... As long as we agree the M&P is Superior to the GLOCK but neither compare to a quality 1911 then all is GOOD!

If course someone had to chime in about the "inferiority" of the Glocks and "Superiority" of the 1911.
BTW, if the M&P is an iPod and the Glock is a Walkman, then that makes the 1911 a grammaphone?
You're seriously gonna talk about the evolution of firearms and how one improved with time, then brag about a 100+ year old design?

BTW, I'm not knocking the 1911, I'm just reacting to the hypocrisy of that statement.

A classic never dies... And given the 80+ year service life of the M1911 in the US Military, both GLOCK and S&W have a looooong way to go in unseating old slab side as Americas #1 fighting handgun.

In reality there is nothing the 'new' plastic striker fired pistols can do that the 'older' hammer fired metal pistols can't do. And I think the older DAO hammer fired pistols are safer and have the second strike capability.
But what do I know? I am just an old fart who has been a 'hired' gun for most of his live!!!

Safer, why? Because they have a mechanical safety. The first day in firearms instruction I was taught to never trust a mechanical safety.
Keep your booger hook off the boom switch.... yada yada yada...

glock is always the gun compared to the 1911,the reason is because it is comparable the glock is a great platform just like the 1911 was/is, it is here to stay no matter what the haters say about it.
how can 45 + countries military and police forces and civilians be wrong for the last 25+ years, glock is here it will continue to be here.

Everybody talks about glock fanboys and in every thread somebody always mentions 1911's. IMHO 1911 fanboys are worse and more plentiful, but not looked at as annoying because the 1911 is "sexy". I for one love 1911's but feel in my every day life the 1911 is not the best option for me for numerous reasons. For me personally it goes 1911<glock<m&p<walther ppq. Take that 1911 fanboys, lol

Never enough guns or ammo
