When you "restore" a classic firearm what you are actually doing ir reducing its collectors valve by at least 50% and reducing the number of interested buyers in the future. Also you are forever and ever removing the guns history. Ever mark, ding, dent and rub mark was installed by your relative in the course of his life or the previous owners life. Restore it and you will just have a shiny gun and the world is full of shiny guns with no history. I have always admired working guns with caracter marks.
