It would be worth it in the end but I think the browning is gonna come into play in a few lol.

I agree that this gun desperately needs to be rescued and appreciated, and im sure you would do just that.i would at least try and talk the guy down on the price a little. Explain to him the time its gonna take for you to restore it back to its original condition.good luck with everything

Pass dude, you can find them in damn good shape not needing anything but a loving new owner, sometimes for as little as $800.

I haven't seen one with my own eyes (in person) go for more than $1200.

On the auction sites there are a few that are way out there, but I'm talking about one I can pick up at a local gun show.

Print off some pages from the auction sites to give the seller a better idea if what a fair price is for a GOOD CONDITION python. Then tell him to come down on his overpriced and neglected work of art.

fired/unfired has no bearing on the value of guns. condition of the finish, working condition, bore condition is what really matters. even having the box and original papers is only a small bump in value.

from your description without pics i would put MAYBE 350-400$ for 1500$???? thats ridiculous. my python is a 6" barrel in pristine flawless condition and is barely breaking the 1200$ mark on a real good day to someone desperate!!

I agree, if you cant talk the guy down to a realistic and fair price i would look somewhere else. If this gun is pretty rusty "but" needing some TLC i wouldnt pay more than $300 for it,and im just shooting from the hip. There could be more wrong with it than the eye can see. The internals may be damaged from the neglect as well.damaged internals can jack with the timing, then you have a rusty hand grenade
