Colt Agent .45
I went to a gun show today and looked at a Colt NEW Agent .45 with a blued finish and wood grips. Man that pistol was nice. By brother has a Colt Commander 4691 that I really like and that is what got me to looking at the colts.
The Agent fit my hand just right but I like the 4691 also. I can't make up my mind on what to get. It will be a CCW.
I should just get both huh? :)

I googled the Colt NEW Agent and learned quite abit. I'm not too sure about the gutter sight. Otherwise I really like this pistol.

This would be my 1st 1911 pistol so I think I may go with the Colt Commander 4691 with the 4-1/4" barrel. I carried my brothers Colt 4691 in Fla. and it was a breeze to carry. It has conventional sights too. :)

They are a sweet looking gun.

They feel right and the shorter length makes sense in concealment conditions.

I was looking at used Defenders for a while until I saw the New Agent in the Colt catalog. I do like the formed rubber grip on the Defender.

I'm so new to guns it's not funny, but those are two I'd really like to have.

I'm also looking at the Kimber Ultra Carry II. The Kimber has traditional sights and are available with night sights and a laser grip from the factory. The Kimber Pro Carry with a 4" barrel is a bad to the bone pistol too.

I carry the Defender 3" and would recommend it without a single doubt.
I run Wilson Combat 47DOXB 8 rd mags.
IMHO the best carry out there, with the added advantage of the 45ACP 8+1

Colt New Agent
Yea Tom, I got to handle one at a gun show in Pennsylvania a couple weeks ago, and it IS a sweet .45 just begging to be carried. Alot of people are put off by the lack of "target" sights ( and the trough channel ), but it was made to be what it is...a concealed carry belly gun, that gets drawn and point shot at the is not a target pistol.

I WANT one...!!

BTW...NRA American Rifleman did a write-up on it too...April 2009 pages 60-61
