cheap way of repairing bluing
I have a Colt 1908 vest pocket .25 auto from 1920 that has some of the bluing wore off of the frame. What is the best/cheapest way of taking care of it. Is there any way to repair the bluing without having it professionally reblued. It doesn't have to be perfect, just look half way decent.

Reblueing that gun will most likely destroy any collector value it may have. I would think very carefully before I did that.

I agree with Rick1967, leave it alone. If you are going to keep it for the rest of your life and don't care if you destroy a little bit of history then you could use touch-up cold blue on it. There are about 25,000 brands. They mostly all work about the same. Search for "cold blue".

Thanks guys, I didn't even think about rebluing it hurting its collector's value. Although I don't intend to ever sell it, the last thing I want to do is hurt it's value.
