CHEAP .45s
I have recently been looking into the future and thinking about a cheaper 45 acp. Ive been looking around and have been surprised with my findings. Rock Island Armory 1911 45 $400-500, Interstate arms 1911 45 $350-450, American classic by metro arms 1911 45 $400-500, and Taurus 24/7 OSS 45 $325 (WOW). Any insight on any of these guns. Ive heard not much good about polymer framed taurus's. Im really interested in the 24/7 though. I just wonder how good these guns are.

If you are looking for an inexpensive .45 you can find a Ruger P90 for about $275.
If you are looking for a good inexpensive 1911 .45, I don't think you could go wrong with a Rock Island.

Nothing wrong with that 24/7.
Better than a Sigma or Ruger P series anyday

While I've never owned a Taurus, most of what I've heard about the 24/7 lineup has been really positive. If they're reliable, it's tough to beat that price.
I went with the XD myself. Picked up a used XD45 service with four mags, the full XD kit, and a Supertuck for $460...all in barely used condition.

I've owned all three. The Sigma & Ruger P89 were rock solid reliable. The bought new Taurus 24/7 Pro failed in the first week and it took Taurus 13 weeks to repair it. I sold it at a loss. These are facts not opinions...

Three 1911's and one other on comparo. Are you looking at caliber or platform? Of those 1911's offered, I would rather go with the Rock Island. The Phillipines has (had) two 1911 manufacturers, and RIA gets the nod better than the other.
