Ouch! I'd blast it and spackle that baby with JB Weld, then try the Ceramakote. Ha.

Or, just leave it alone.

I have a few spare Systema slides, and think one has the import mark. I'm gonna see if the JB Weld spackle works.

It should take pretty well. If not, I'm not really any further behind than I am now.

That might not be a bad idea. Let me know if you use JB Weld to fill it and how it comes out. It seems like it should work in theory.

I'll try it and see how it fills the letters. I don't have any Ceramakote to cover it with but will see how Gun Kote does. Or even some Krylon, just to see how it looks without baking.

Thanks. Ordinarily, I'd just go ahead and try it, but I'm a bit reticent about making things worse.

I have a pile of extra 1911 slides. Some of them have seen a LOT of hard use. I don't mind trying it. Nothing that can't be blasted off and redone anyway.

I definitely am going to go for it. The only question is whether or not I fill that stinkin' import mark. Do you think they could have made it any bigger?

It is pretty big. I have a Colt with an import mark, and you almost need a microscope to read it.

I will admit that it's a nice clean rollmark. I just would like it gone.

BTW, I got an email from Midway last night, the Ceramacoat is already on its way. That's pretty good service I only ordered it a few hours before that.

The thing I hate about Midway is that they won't ship ammunition to me here in Cali.

I have seen some very impressive finishes done by a place called CCR in TN. I think they call their flavor Cera-Hyde. My Springer Legend has a Robar finish and it appears extremely tough...

I just googled Robar. Man are they expensive! Ford's is cheaper and that's saying something.
