Can i convert my Beretta 96 to 9mm?

Axxe55, while the headspace is different, the smaller 9mm cartridge still works. As I noted, the difference in the extractor may cause the brass to fling in an undesirable direction. I have put at least 500 rounds through this set up, with 40 cal mec gar magazines, and haven't had an issue. Its definitely safe, the gun cycles, its accurate, the mags work.
