I carried it as backup loaded up 13+1 Super Vels. I love that gun and did depend on it on more than one occasion. It's a wonderful weapon, but care must be taken with it.
Looks like mine. It's 1971 'C', I believe. I bet not 100 rounds through it.

Abercrombie on Madison Ave. was like Disneyland for gun lovers. They were known a hundred years for supplying safaris, even a couple Teddy Roosevelt went on. I bought a couple of guns from them including a Colt SAA that they customized for me. In the 1970's someone walked in and removed a shotgun that they had with many others displayed on racks on the floor. He loaded it and blew his brains out. They then caved in and are now the crappy store you see today. I loved hanging out there with my old German salesman. Guess nothing lasts forever. By the way, they were also hooked up with custom gun maker Griffin & Howe. Got that also. Damn shame things are so screwed up these days and the younger gun guys will never know how great things used to be.

The browning hi power is in my opinion the best handgun of all times. If it comes down to it I'd take my browning over a 1911 any day. That being said if some lame XD has a spot I think the hi power is entitled as well.

Try some Pachmayr American Legends, they are REALLY sweet.
