If we are going purely by caliber I vote .357 mag. It will take any game in North America and is still the gold standard for dealing with two legged predators.

Kimber Solo
Has anyone gotten their hands on a Kimber Solo 9mm yet? I'm curious as to quality, reliability & value for the money. Since I've never owned a Kimber, I would not know what to expect. I own Khar 9mm, .45's by Colt (2 or 3), EAA(with .22 kit), Caspian from a Kit, Sprfld, Walther .380, I think that is it. (I'm happy with all of them. All good shooter's. Should have added a Wilson & a Brown. I have 3 or 4 1911's I have built from stock guns.

I would suggest for those with a higher end budget, the H&K USP either full size or compact, in either the 9mm, 40 S&W, or the .45acp. I do like the Sig Sauer P226, P2022.
For the more modest budget: Any Glock or S&W M&P line.

Is not what gun is the best,It is what gun you can put your hand on and hit what you shot at. if the grips are to big or to small this is no good if the kick of the round going off it to much to handle you wont hit s--t so i would go to a gun shop that will let you try them out first!!!!

And why would that be? That plastic return spring guide is far, far from being your garden variety plastic. It was developed with military service in mind. It is much less likely to have problems with sand, is virtually self-lubricating, and is every bit as durable as a steel rod.

I'd have to agree almost 100%. I say almost because I've never had nor shot a Glock, probably to my detriment.

I have the large hands, short fingers problem and find certain sidearms fit me fine. Others are a bit of a stretch when reaching for the trigger. The M92 is a case in point, though I still was able to hit the ten ring consistantly. Just not comfortably.
