I am a big fan of SIG products, especially the newest design the P250 modular system. Check it out and try one at a range. they are fantastic.

I have not found the best overall gun yet. I ride my Gold Wing allot in the summer months and like to pack my 9mm Taurus with paddle holster. This gun fits nice and close to my side and my jacket just covers the end of the barrel. It is light and I keep one round in the pipe and on safety. When I am driving the car, I keep this semi-auto in the glove box for easy access.

On the other hand, when I am out frolicking out in the woods, walking on the trails, or hunting, I like packing my 40 cal M&P. 4.25 inch barrel. This gun is allot more accurate to shoot than the 9mm 3.25 barrel and has the ability to make a bigger impact on the object in sight.

I also sometimes carry my .38 Taurus revolver in my pants which is very accurate at shorter distances.

So, there you go....There is really no one gun that is an "all around" gun for everything. Depends on what you want to use the gun for.

I wouldn't buy a glock with your money. And none of

their cheesy, blocky, bandwagon manufacturer XD/XM-having

lookalikes, either.

When I am looking to buy a handgun I look for
1 where is it made
2 how many rounds will it hold
That's why IMO I do not like the 1911
3 how does it look and feel IMO I like H&K USP line

Ruger has a very nice 1911 but hard to come by......still a great bargaining chip if you ever want to trade it in
