Any of the guns listed above are good from 7 yrds ( for protection) so go for reliablity .

I don't know about "bestest", but i really have enjoyed my CZ75b and my XD45. For targets, the CZ75b would be my pick of semiautos, but for defense, the XD45 slings a bigger chunk of lead and would be my fave.

IMO- 9mm-get a CZ75 or Beretta92.

45ACP-a well lubricated 1911A1.

Bingo. What is my fav gun will not be someone else's. My "Favorite" gun has changed several times over the years. My fav gun now wasn't my fav 5 years ago. Granted, all the guns I have liked a lot over the years were all 100%. But, some guns shoot better for some people than others...

The "best" gun is personal. There may be a "best gun" for YOU - but not a "best gun" in general.

Typically, go rent several and see which you like the best
