Default Best Buy

What does everyone believe is the best semi-auto for its respected price?

Springfield Loaded Combat (parkerized) http://www.springfield-armory.com/armory.php?version=4

Kimber Custom II with night sights
http://www.kimberamerica.com/pistols/custom/custom_II/1/

Both are around $800

Hard to beat a well made 1911-- many have tried--- none has accomplished it.

Or you can get a dish washer safe (top rack only) gun... taking cover!

+1 on a 1911.

Taurus has a couple of models that are really well made for the money.

For my money, right now, no one is turning out a better overall product than Kimber for the features versus cash outlay.

I'd pit my SIG P220 against any 1911 any day of the week.

Sure I'd buy you a used Kel Tec--- lol should only be what... 5 bucks.

I agree Sigs are nice-- I've been carrying mine for 6 years (P228)-- however, they are not a 1911.
Close but no cigar.

Define "Beat" LOL

If it means pure accuracy say from a Ransom Rest and reliability with factory ammo I wouldn't hold your breath on getting that new Sig Ineffable .

If JD's NightHawk is anything like the Pachmayr , Yost and Clark 1911's I've fired you can wait till the sun goes Supernova till it will jam/fail and they were all guaranteed to group 1 1/2-2 inches at 50 yards NOT 25 .

With a custom 1911 you're getting a whole bunch more than a name for the $2,500+ price .

If there was ever a God like handgun John Moses Browning designed it and it wasn't the High Power . Zeus wouldn't have been throwing lightening bolts if JMB had been born in ancient Greece it would have been 230 grain 45 caliber bullets from a 1911 !!
