When someone asks "what is the best..." without including a context (such bang for the buck, CCW, home defense, etc), that to me means best in terms of quality, like what is someone's top tier model. So I provided Sig's top two pistols in terms of overall quality, accuracy, and features.

Are they the best bargain? No. Are they the best carry choice? Not exactly. But the OP didn't specify THOSE parameters either.

P239- Sleek, slim single-stack. Not super small, but a really nice little gun...nice option for women as well, given its dimensions.

As far as current productions, the only other options are Sig's polymers (not a big fan) and the uber-expensive P210, which is something of a heavy, single-stack target/service pistol. Nostalgic quality for sure, but outta my price range at $2K.
I have to second your quote. I have owned and carried a Sig for over 20yrs. I started carrying a XD45 Service about 5 yrs ago and switched to a XD45C because of its smaller size.

Before I started carrying a XD I switched between my Sig P229 and my P239, depending on what I was wearing at the time. I recently picked up a Sig P-226 as well, all 3 in 9mm. Here is a picture of my family of Sigs.

There is no doubt there is alot of variations of sigs in 9mm and all different price and purpose of each. Some are better for ccw all are accurate. If price isn't a concern then can you buy me another for the collection lol I have multiple sigs and love the all a good priced 9mm from sig that imho is great at $450 is sp2022 I've fired more than 3000 through that one with not a prob but cleaning after a good range session lol

I picked up my Sig P-226R in 9mm for $550 for Christmas. I picked up my P-228, P-239 and P-232 for about $900 a couple of years ago, but I was lucky to find that kind of deal.
