There are a few cases where models overlap.

If someone says "M60", they could be talking about the M60 machine gun, or the (M)arlin/(M)odel 60 .22

It can be confusing at times, especially since firearms manufacturing and design is an international endeavor.

And I don't care what anyone says, in my KoolAid jug, the 1911 will always rule supreme when it comes to the .45 ACP.

There are others out there that are more modern. Hold more boolits. Different sight plane. Longer barrels. Or better for concealment. Whatever. The same old saying always goes, "what's best for you may not be best for the other guy." This is very similar to, "one man's trash is another man's treasure."

Here's what helps to mitigate felt recoil, from the Wiki article on the FNX pistols.

Its difference lies primarily in the distance the barrel and the slide travel prior to the barrel dropping and unlocking. The FNX barrel and slide travel up to twice the distance of some other semi automatic pistols, such as the Springfield XDm (HS2000), before separating. This helps to reduce the felt recoil of the pistol.

My vote is for H&K USP45 Tactical - accuracy, reliability, threaded barrel, Match trigger. Some H&K fans may disagree with me claiming the newest H&K45 tactical to be the best .45ACP. My personal opinion - a modern handgun has to be high-capacity even in larger calibers but for H&K45 Tactical they sacrificed 2 rounds in the mag for the better ergonomics so I prefer the good old USP.

I personally think that the Sig Sauer 220X6 is the best 45 acp. It makes an average shooter an expert. Bullseye all day long.

That's a damn nice pistol. I wonder if it will ever be available in a decocker only version

I'd like to shoot one and compare it to my SIG P220.

There is no comparison. Its like sending out little lead laser beams.

I would go with the boorish Glock 21. Just works, Reguardless of what you throw at it.
