I generally buy what ever bulk ammo is on the shelf the day I buy a box. I haven't seen a lot of difference in performance. I keep miffed about the lack of quality control in most of the bulk ammo. I will get perfect strikes on the cartridge and have a failure to fire way too often.

I just plink with the .22 so cartridge failure is not a life and death situation.

If I'm not mistaken the usual mini-mags are HV but I am pretty sure I've seen some standard velocity as well. Also there are round nose and hollow point. Moral of the story read labels very carefully!

Hmm, I've only ever noticed one set where I get them from, perhaps they only carry one or the other. HP is obvious though, no need to read, smaller boxes by about half the size. Hahahaa

I looked up CCI brand ammo and see different versions. It's amazing how many there are.

Half the size? Not at Walmart. Same identical 100 round plastic box with blue label only difference is the wording and tips of the bullets.

Last I remembered looking at my local BiMart they came only MiniMags in 100rnd box and HP in 50rnd box, no clue if both were same brand, thought they were, but the HPs could've been Hornady or something else. So perhaps I'm mistaken, I've only ever gotten the MiniMags before and know right where they are. I've only glanced at the hollow points briefly while waiting for clerk to finish with another customer.

In any case, this is all of very little importance.

I wonder if he is thinking about the stingers? Now those I have only seem in 50 round boxes.

I've had good luck with Federal 550 bulk pack in all my rimfires. Stay away from the Reminton bulk ammo. I've had multiple failures with that junk. The cases blow just in front of the rim. I get burned powder and shrapnel in my face and have to dig a broken case out of the chamber.
