Bersa .380
I picked up a Bersa Thunder .380 today. Went into Academy and they had them with the molded rubber grips for $269 so I went ahead and got one...figured if nothing else it's a great gun for my wife with the mild recoil and smaller grip size. We went and shot it this afternoon and I must say I am very impressed...especially for a gun that low on cost. Is as accurate as I could ask from a small pistol and functioned flawlessly with over 150 rounds fired through it today. Plan on shooting it more tomorrow. I'm not crazy on the idea of using a .380 for personal protection, but any gun is better than none...especially for someone who is not comfortable with the recoil or overall size of most larger calibers, such as my wife. Question is this...What ammo would you use for protection in a .380? I'm thinking Hornady Critical Defense, I don't want to overlook any others though.

bersa 380s are the most underrated little pistols out there. they are pretty much walther ppks clones without the crappy walther triggers, easier to take down, and the slide rides a bit higher. the magazine to slide height puts the bullets almost directly inline with the chamber making them more reliable than the ppks.
they are great guns.

Both my wife and I have the Bersa Thunder. They are accurate, reliable to the extreme, durable and easy to shoot. For our CCW, I have chosen the CorBon dpx. Go to Ammo Jug Tests for some informative tests.

I had one and loved it. They are an excellent pistol and a great value.
