I looked at a CX4 9mm at Gander Mountain. I was thinking about getting one until I held it, it felt heavy to me. I talked to a guy at the range who had one. He liked it. Accurate out to about 100 Yds, very accurate at 75 Yds. I don't see any advantage over a pistol for short range and definitely no advantage for long range. Buy an AR15, Mini 14, Mini30, or a Marlin 336. Personally for me the only reason to buy one is just because you want it. That's how I ended up with my Benelli M4. I already had a great Remington 870 but just wanted the Benelli M4 and that is just as good a reason as any. If you want it, buy it! I own a lot of guns just for that reason.

I'd submit to you, that I own ALL of my guns for that reason...

M4 is a great shotgun, btw...

The Px4 was my first 9mm! I love it! 3 backstraps, mag loader easy to clean.. Reliable and accurate. The styling is either a love or hate. I think I paid $500 about 3 years ago. 2500 rounds plus never a problem.

At the time I was contemplating a berretta 92 but for the price I couldn't pass it up. Never regretted it

I have a Stoeger Cougar 40 cal. and I'm totally sold on the rotary lock up. Incredible out of the box accuracy, near zero barrel rise makes for highly accurate follow up shots. Given the opportunity to buy a Berretta 92 in 40 S&W or PX4 I wouldn't hesitate.

I shot the PX4 today and like the gun. I am looking for a 9mm and so far I have shot the Springfield 1911-A1, Glock 19, Glock 17, and PX4. I have several more guns to shoot to build my short list and then I will work back through the short list. Right now from a function and fit perspective the PX4 and 17 are at the top of my list with the Beretta edging out the Glock very slightly based on aesthetics.

I am taking my time with the goal of making my decision in March. I own a 22/45 and when I started renting 9mm I experienced limp wristing. I think I fixed that today.

I m sure my analysis is not fair to the initial guns I shoot because my proficiency goes up the more I shoot. I may just have to pass through the long list a second time before I finalize my short list.

Here is the 17 and PX4 I shot today. I am having a ball!
