Default Beretta M92sb compact safety

This is my first post on this forum. I got it because I mainly use forums on my iPhone, and was recommended this app. So far I like it.

I'm not a hand-gun guy, I like rifles more, but my dad thought I needed a handgun to defend my house if need be, so he gave me one of his Berettas, and sent me on my marry way. It is a model 92sb compact, and so far, I like it. However, as a military enthusiast, I know the "m9" has had issues with the side coming off during firing (until the 92fs) , and wanted to know if the 92sb was safe. I don't know much about the slide mishaps, but when it comes to safety like this, I figured it best to come straight here.

Basically, is the Beretta M92sb Compact safe? Would you trust your life to it?

I don't know about the particular model you have, but I've owned a few Berettas and have found them to be of very good quality and dependable. I still have one that is my main carry. If you like it, learn it, it's up to you to make it safe by knowing your firearm.

It is one of the models that had issues with the slide being blown off. I'm not thinking I'll have an issue though.

Take it to the range and put 1000 rounds through it... After that you'll have a good idea if you'd trust "your" life to it... I don't trust a firearm until i have put 1000 through it... But maybe that's just me
