(I'm going through the same process as the OP right now.)

Assuming that you use the $440 (used - Higher by 3% if you use a credit card) price, plus $25 FFL, plus $125 tritium, plus $40 install (total ballpark - I have no actual idea), you get a total around $630.

The LGS woudl be around $690 - $700 w/tax and a background check

For your $50 - $70, you don't get to handle the gun and you don't have the convenience of having bought it locally (in case there are issues).

If I were in your situation, I'd buy from the LGS, but I'd still try to bring him down. I'd be shooting for $650 out-the-door (includes tax and background check).

That was also why I asked about the condition of the gun and the importance of the night sights. Personally, the night sights aren't something I'm shopping for, so the added cost of the night sights would be a deterent when compared to available guns without the night sights.
Exactly what i kept processing. Instead I went with a brand new 92FS sub compact. 10rd. much better especially as a ccw and pricing was 50 less. I feel I made a much better purchase. Plus you never really know where these used guns are coming from. I trust everyone, just not the devil inside them.

You mean the 92 compact, right? They don't make a 92 "subcompact"

The 92 compact Type L has not been imported in over 10 years - but a new batch hit the USA a few months ago. I managed to pick up 2!

yea shipwreck the compact but its kind of strange they consider this compact for only being 2 rounds smaller from the full size (full size=15rd and compact=13) and bout an inch cut from the barrel. I dont see that they are still manufacturing this weapon since it is not on the website! Awesome grips btw, where did you get them? i think the had one left at the place i bought mine. might go back and buy the second one. its tempting. aaha

I bought mine from a vendor on Amazon. Just google "hogue compact 92 grips"

Yes, I am surprised you haven't seen some of the other conversations on other gun forums. They AREN'T listed on their website, and they did not talk about it at the shot show either. so, no one knows how long they will be available. I have commented on several sites already about this - if ya want one, get it now. They may be gone next month, or Beretta may keep them around permanently if they sell well.

No one knows.

When they first hit the market - many people (including my local gun store) contacted Beretta directly. None of the employees that were contacted even knew about the guns, and they denied that they were on the market. So, who knows...

As for the size... Look at the USP compact by HK. I carried a USPc45 for a while. I then compared the grip to my 92 one day - almost the same size. That's what made me start carrying my fullsize 92FS after that. I have done so for about 19 months now.

Very nice guns! I am a Beretta collector, or should I just say I have a number of Berettas. Where can a person pick up one of the 92 compacts priced right? I see a few on GB in the $ 500-600 range.

Seems pricey to me.

I don't pay for extras on a used car, so what makes a used gun so

special?

For that kind of money, you could be looking at a NIB 92A1.(and the three

17rd mags that come with it...)

Academy Sports (a chain store) sells them for $549.

I have 9 Berettas now - eight 92 variants and a 9mm PX4 (which is my most recent Beretta)

My FIL bought a LNIB Italian 92FS with 3 mags and Beretta wood grips from an individual at a gun show two weekends ago for $450. The gun still had the original oil and didn't have any wear in the barrel to slide fit areas. I'd say it never saw more than 2 boxes of shells.
