Basic Review: Jennings J-22 (.22LR)

Here's is another real basic review of my favorite little plinker, and all around "fun gun". I hope some of you will enjoy this little spotlight on the Jennings J-22.

Thanks for that info Sgt-Miller. I have always just only glanced at those little pocket pistols since they were so small. But at the same time I also wondered if they were any good. From time to time I think of getting a "pocket pistol" but do not know which one would be better for summer carry when anything of substance will print like crazy.

Honestly, the best choice for a pocket pistol would be something like a Ruger LCP, if you can afford one.

This pistol is reliable for me, but some of these pistols are horribly made. That is the biggest problem when it comes to old pistols such as these. Some are good and some are bad.

I trust mine to use as a defensive pistol because I've put lots of rounds through it, and I've cleaned it and performed a "fluff and buff" on it. If you cannot get anything else, though, this pistol will work for you.

I can't deny that it's fun and cheap to shoot. It's a challenge shooting this pistol at 20 yards or so...lol.

Say what they may about the little J-22. I love mine.I paided $65 new in 1973 and have carried it a lot. Easy to clean and shoot. Real easy to carry. Just a fun little gun.

I just got one a few weeks ago. And i have nothing but fun with it. I have put 300 rounds thru it with no issues.

Just hearing the Jennings name makes me twitch...

I was hoping they'd all be melted down by now.

Like the Jennings J-22 a friend turned me on to the Phoenix 22a.
I like a lot of others have been trained to only buy quality pistols (quality = expensive).
After having shot his I was very suprised to find out it was a nice little plinker. No issues at all and unlike expensive sigs, walthers and others shot the cheapest 22 ammo available. The best part, new ones only cost $150 with a lifetime warranty.

Mine fits very nicely in the pocket.

I have one. Its not for self defense. But it is one of the most fun plinking guns you can find. And i can feed it just about anything. So that makes it cheap to shoot.

The Keltec P3-AT is less expensive & better than the LCP .
And has never been thru a recall like the Ruger's have ;)
