Anyone had a Taurus PT-945?

What did you like or dislike about it? Still have it? Thanks for the info.

I've got one and love it

Mine is stainless and black. It came with one factory mag and one aftermarket mag. The aftermarket mags for this gun are junk, stick to factory and it will work fine. I bought mine from my local gun shop, used like new for $450 in February 2010. I absolutely love everything about it except for the sights which get very dirty after only a handful of shots. It is extremely accurate and has very little felt recoil for a .45. IMO it shoots like a 9mm. The double action trigger feels like butter. I have shot just about every kind of ammo i could get my hands on and this baby feeds and fires everything i can give it. The only thing i have in store for this gun is a set of night sights and the Excalibur grips.

Thanks. The local pawn shop has one that looks good, but I thought the grip looked and felt a little blocky so that I had to reach for the trigger. If it shoots as well as you say, I think I'll buy it. I do like Taurus pistols and love, .45s.

Make sure to read this thread before you spend money on a Taurus - then again you may be one of the lucky ones...

My opinion of the PT-945 is that said model in particular is a very nice, hard working, reliable piece. I have owned and shot with a Millenium Pro .45 model 145BP and a Millenium .40 model 140BP. They had more problems than any other auto loader I have ever owned. I purchased my PT-945 approx. 6 months ago, and shoot with it at least 2 nights a week. I have spent more than 2000 rounds through it with no problems at all, ever. The question of whether or not Taurus is reliable? My answer is.. It depends on the model.

I currently own one and I'm very partial to it. I've always liked double action pistols similar to the Beretta that I carried in the army plus I got it as a secondary carry gun for my vehicle. If it gets stolen I won't kick myself so hard as I would if my Glock 17 went missing.
