Default Any Star Pistol Fans Out There??

I'm new to this forum and was just wondering if any of you are fans of the Star automatic pistols? I bought my first 1911 back first of the year and love the way it feels and points in my hand. Oh yes, and the trigger pull is the best. Because of the style and feel of 1911 frame, when I found out about the star pistols I had to find one or two. Well that's how I ended up with the 9mm BM and the .380 SS. I lucked out and got a very good deal on each pistol. They both run very well and do their part when I do mine. I'm thinking about doing a refinish and getting better sights on the BM. The little .380 is just plain cool as it is.

I bought a Star 9mm BKM new thirty years ago. Been a great pistol. She shows her age but other than maybe new grips I'll leave her as the proud old girl that she is.

Yes Jo the BM and BMK's are great little Commander style pistols. No they are not true 1911 clones but they run good and handle much like the 1911's. So far mine has digested everything I've thrown at it. I got the BM for the cheapest I've seen so far this year at $190.00.

I recently bought a Star SS .380 myself. I don't know if I got a good deal on it or not but I don't really care. Once I picked it up I had to have it. I paid $270.00 for mine. From what I can tell it has the original grips on it, not the thumrest grip. I'm planning to have mine fixed up in reverse twotone with black levers.

Hey redrover I lucked out and got my SS for $160.00. Mine is a great little shooter. digested round nose and semi-wad cutters with no problem. Next time I'm trying several brands of JHP. You'll love it.

I've got a Star B that I was somewhat disappointed with the first time I shot it. Accuracy wasn't all that great and shot placement was quite random. I was shooting the same 115gr ball ammo that my P-38 will shoot bug holes with.

But then I decided to try some 124gr ammo and all of a sudden the model B sprang to life.

It's a keeper now.

Given the chance I'll buy another maybe more. Especially if I get a deal on one that needs a little tlc.
