Ammo for a Hi point

My cousin wants to purchase a Hi-point 9. I have heard mixed reviews on the weapon, so I wanted to ask you guys what ammo you recommend to be fired with this weapon, that has had minimal jamming.

Hi points will eat anything. Depends on how much you like cleaning the weapon. Use wolf or Tula and you will be there for days cleaning. Federal is good and its cheap at wal-mart.

I recommend 9mm.

...or 9x19.

...or 9mm Luger.

i would not want to give it high velocity high pressure cartridges
the way its made id stick with the std velocity stuff
i like the 45 over the 9mm for the hipoints and i'd only use the 230 grain hardball

I think a standard velosity round is recommended,no +p or high power rounds.I wasn't aware that a 45cal. High Power was ever made,a 40 yes,and a 40 frame with 9mm barrel is recommended if you want to shoot +p rounds.I like regular FMJ rounds in mine.

the C9 will take most anything you can give it. I am having issues with the tul ammo though but i'm finding that the batch of it I have is not right and the rounds are about an 1/8 in longer than most of the 9mm(federal and remington) i have been using and it hits the feed ramp and miss feeds.

Winchester

I feed mine the cheapest Winchester i can buy at Wal mart, 100 rounds for about $18.

Contrary to what some people say, IMO, 5 rounds of 9mm FMJ will stop most anything but a grisly bear.

The best accessory for a High Point is a good quality tube sock to slide the piece of crap into so you can swing it around like a club.

RUN don't walk from a high point.
