She will need to ultimately decide what works for her. But the LC9 seems to be a better feeling shooter and seems like a more solidly built gun. The PF9 can be fussy about the ammo you feed it. The LC9 doesn't seem to care. I don't know too much about the P11.

Thats Funny. I heard the same ammo thing about the lc9. We are going to look and hold some right now actually. I like the p11 because of the capacity.
Im curious to see the difference in how tight the slide and slide release is to operate for her.

I guess it just depends on the specific gun, the shooter, the specific ammo, and such. Its just been my experience shooting each one at my local gun range.

Figure out what she likes and shoots well.

I have a PF9. It's quite reliable and I consider it a bargain. But it's not easy to be accurate with and really not much fun to shoot. I'm 6'1", 200lbs, athletic with strong hands...I can shoot it okay, but it still feels like a firecracker going off in the hand with every pull of the trigger. For someone with weaker hands, it will be decidedly worse.

I also have a S&W Shield and it's a pleasure to shoot. But it's also about $50-100 beyond your stated budget. I think the first one I'd investigate off your list is the Ruger, hands down.

Can I offer you another suggestion to take a look at in your price range. The sccy cpx2 is an awesome little pistol. I picked one up at cabellas for $275. It comes with two 10+1 double stack mags and flat floor plates for smaller hands. Sccy had some issues when they released the cpx1 but addressed them all with the cpx2. I really like it, Havnt had 1 issue with it at all.

Btw, my wife who is smaller, only 5'3" loves the feel of it. Fits her hands quite well. Here is a pic compared to my Glock 17 so you can tell the actual size.

She wants a Tauras tcp .380 I hate .380..... She doesent care. She liked how it felt and how lite it is. The slide release is a killer though. I could barely push it.

Was the empty mag out? Some of these new pistols are making it impossible to release the slide with an empty mag inserted.

I just sold one with the laser. I was wondering if the safety became a little lighter with use? It seemed really stiff IMO.
