It's not the only way to go. Go to a gun shop with a nice selection of new and used guns and tell the guy working your budget and what you want in the gun. He will surely have several to show you and tell you about. Make your own decision from there

That's what I did today.
I handled the
- Ruger p95
- sig sp2022
- fn fnx 9 ( a lil more $$ than I have to work with)

From those..... I like the sig the best.

It will go in layaway on Friday. Ill get it in January. I play guitar and sing at a local bar every Thursday night so my gig money is buying this one! Wife said that's the only way I can keep my sigma and not put it towards the cost of the sig.
If I traded in or sold the sigma, I could get in a week or two.

But im never selling it. Its a great gun for me. I call it my glock G16 & 3/4. ( almost a Glock 17) lol

I've always liked them. I've never shot one though. Even on the "cheap sig"($420 ain't cheap to a security guard with 3 kids) I could feel quality, comfort and confidence when I held that.

Most guys with $500-$1000 guns might think that's silly, but for me, a man who started with a cobra. 380 to a hi point c9 to a S&W sigma.... it really felt like a dream.

Try a S&W SDVE. Good guns. Can get one in .40 or 9mm and usually between $300 and $375
