I found an M&P40 with only 200 rounds through it and its already got a trigger job on it for $500. Is this a good deal?

Springfield xd 40 tactical (5") or Service (4") I have the tactical when loaded the balance is excellent and I have never had any malfunctions in over 600 rounds. It takes every round available without a problem. I just love this dern thing.

From someone you trust, yes. Trigger job is like an umbrella term, not always an improvement.

There is a couple of threads in here of people that got hurt with weapons that had "trigger jobs". I'm not sure I would do it.

A .40S&W seems an odd choice for plinking. But to each their own .

I dislike the 40 as a pistol round, but I LOVE it for plinking with this:

Hi-Point 4095TS.

I like what Mercator said and I totally agree. I'm not a big fan of the .40 but the one pictured here kinda fell into my lap. A police officer friend of the family knows of my interest in firearms and was selling an older s&w 4046 for a lady cop(dept. required update) shot very little and had it cleaned by a gunsmith after every outing...very well cared for. I'm retired and carried a Sig 226 9mm..sold the .40 but still reload for it. I got this s&w 4046 for $200 with three factory mags. Trade ins can sometime be a very good deal. The 4046 is DAO and requires getting used to. Good luck with your search. Regards Dick
