Default .40 caliber ammo

What's some good hollow point ammo for a .40 caliber handgun?

I use the federal hydra-shoks and the PDX1's . If you could get ahold of some Winchester Ranger ammo that would be a good HD round also . Just pick one they all do the same thing some are just a tad larger mushroomed than others

Hornady TAP or their new Zombie max, that's what I carry in my glock both types.

Federal HST. Don't know if you'll find it anymore, but Walmart was handling a Federal .40S&W 135 gr. in a black & silver box, Federal number XM40HA, which is not marked as such, but it is their HST round. I haven't seen it around here in a while, so they may have stopped handling it.

Sgammo.com has a great special on remington golden saber 165gr jhp right now. Its about $11 for a box of 25. I like golden saber because its almost exactly the same bullet as the old school black talons...yes i know they arent really cop killers, but i remember the hype. I think its funny that they took the teflon coating off and changed the name and kept right on selling it. All of the rounds the other guys have mentioned are great rounds as well.

They were, and they are. Ranger SXT is what they're called now. People make jokes about it that SXT stands for Same Xact Thing. I got a good laugh out of it the first time I heard it.

SG Ammo also sells the Winchester Ranger T Series ammo, it's the newest generation of the SXT or "Black Talon", their prices are very good and these are 50 round boxes as you may or may not know, these boxes are labeled 'Law Enforcement Ammunition", however, this is Winchesters policy not the law, except in certain states.
