My first handgun was a 380 ,the main reason I bought my first 9mm was because it was so much cheaper to buy ammo for. Although these days I can't say the same. Strangely enough it was the ppk/s.

.380 is 95 percent 9mm

I take mine to the range and it has pretty much same power as my 9mm's / the only reason i would not use as a main carry gun is that the magazine is only 7 round

I have has several .380's. I had a couple keltecs, but decided to upgrade to the Smith&wesson bodyguard. My wife carries it most of the time. There is nothing Wrong with the .380 round and like someone said earlier, it will kill you dead. A really nice .380 is the sig micro 1911...I think it's the sig 238. But they aren't cheap.

You probably meant the P938. And you're right, they ain't cheap.

The P238 looks more like the Walther PPK/Bersa Thunder 380/Makarov pistols.

No, he's right. The P938 in 9mm is the slightly bigger brother of the P238 in .380.

The P239 is the Bersa/Walther looking gun you're thinking of.

I never was good with numbers. The topic was on .380 and I forgot the P938 was the 9mm.

The P232, however, is similar in appearance to the Bersa T380 and Walther PPK:

and even the Makarov:

The P239 does look a lot like the Walther PPS:

I carry a Ruger LCP 380. I have zero issues with it not performing well as a concealed carry gun. I have full confidence in it's ability to protect me if the need ever arises that I have to use it.

One day the Pastor of our church caught me removing my handgun before entering the church. He approached me and demanded to know what I thought I was doing. I thought I was in for a private parking lot lot sermon. I told him I was taking my gun off before entering the building. Well I was right, I got a ten minute lecture. He went on a rant about how evil does not respect Gods house. There had been a previous instance were members of two rival gangs decided to shoot it out in the church parking lot during evening service. The SWAT team had to escort church members out the back door. His rant ended with the words " I want good, Godly, men that I trust carrying guns in the church if guns are going to be there any ways." Currently at every service now the off duty Sheriffs Deputy, his wfe, and I all carry. The Pastor has since taken the CCW course and is working on finding the gun he will carry, and another man is scheduled to take the course. I told you all this to explain the following. While any of the other six days a week you will find me carrying a Beretta 96 .40, Sundays are the .380 Makarov day. The Makarov is concealable and respectfull to those in the church who dont like guns, and more than enough firepower to protect our congregation.

I carry the Walther PPK and Ruger LCP on my ankle. They are both 380 and are not a problem concealing. With Hornady hollow points, I am very confident in their ability to ruin someone's day.

Pappajim, That was a nice post. It is of interest to hear that there are some sensible church leader left in the politically correct world. It reminds me of the old Western movie. "Heaven With a Gun".
