Default 22lr/mag semi auto pistol

In fixin to get a 22 pistol and I'm not realy sure which one. I was thinking the sig misquito or the kel tec pmr 30. I can't find either at the few lgs I checked so I'm thinking about other options. There is a gun decent show coming up and I might find something there. What are some I should look into or run from? I'm going to use it for plinking and maybe small game.

I'm not familiar with 22 caliber sidearms but I heard Ruger Mark III is worth considering. I myself like to get a 22 magnum revolver, maybe an S&W.

I think the ruger mark III is a bitch to take apart. The revolver wouldn't be a bad option.

No personal experience, but I've read too many opinions about the 'magnum' .22 being wasted in a short barreled handgun. Just for plinking & small critters, the 22LR should be adequate & ammo is considerably cheaper.

Look at the S&W M&P 22 instead of the Sig. The Ruger SR22 pistol would be a good choice also. The S&W has a threaded barrel.

The mosquito is very ammo picky and sig recommends only CCI MiniMags. I have about 3,000 rounds through mine and occasionally fails to fully eject. Failures are minimal if you use T28B lube just before shooting it. I really enjoy mine and it is a replica of my P 226 but 10% smaller. Very easy to strip and clean. Sig also has a 1911 in .22 that is not ammo picky and has virtually no failures with about 2,000 rounds through it. It's a full size1911 and runs about $450. good luck
