Is it just a look thing, or does it have some sort of mechanical advantage? I could see, possibly, a case for the hammer, being easier to manipulate because of the wrap and angle (though barely and negligible), but other than that I'm at a loss for function.
I think it's mostly just for looks.

Just one persons opinion though.
I totally agree with that sentiment...'cept for Glocks. I still hate Glocks

The lighter trigger helps to reduce "trigger bounce" (and less resistance to movement by the lighter sear spring).

The commander or reduce weight of the hammer help with "lock time" speed up. The less mass, the faster it can be moved by the hammer spring.

Hey BTB, waxing nostalgic about "how things used to be" or "this was so much better back when" is the 1st sign that yer gettin' older!!

Hell, I wish Raquel Welch was still runnin' around in fur-lined bikinis and skin-tight white naugahyde!

Welcome to the club!!

Oh, Hera Arms makes it. They make carbine conversions for many handguns. The same company that makes my sweet, sweet baby...excuse me while I wipe a tear.

I wonder if the German governement would let me buy the conversion kit for my P226r. They offer it. it would be way cheaper then buying a new gun. Actually 583 euros. Still way cheaper. hmmm for the future I guess.
