The feel of a 1911 and the trigger action just can't be beat. I have six 1911s: two in 45 ACP, two in 9MM and two in .22LR.

But I also have a GLOCK 19 and really like it and glad to own one. For capacity, it can't be beat. It's fun to shoot, too.

Just went to LGS and walked out fifty dollar poorer, and one 22 round Glock .40 magazine richer.

Ever seen a 22 round magazine for a 1911?

I will use this to do night duty in my Glock 23C or model 32, when 13 rounds should be enough, but one never knows.

Does a 1911 have 13 round magazines?

This, and about a thousand other reasons, I choose Glock over the century's past Colt.

Matter of fact, there are double stacked 1911s. I've even heard of them being 9mm with 20 round capacity.

They're usually racing guns.

I am glad I could serve a small part in the downfall of my beloved forum.

Usually, but not always. For example:

10+1 .45 ACP:

Expensive gun, but 26+1 of 9mm:

14+1 .45 ACP:
http://www.gunsamerica.com/954872904/Para_USA_5_inch_1911_double_stack_hi_cap_Big_Hawg_ 45ACP_14rd.htm

So, ladies an gentlemen, the "high capacity" 1911s are out there. Some expensive, some not.

What's the other reason for a Glock?

Really depends on the purpose and the owner. 1911 is more accurate and just as dependable in its own right with proper care. Glock is a proven performer for protection and dependability even when very dirty. Personally I like a 1911 more and this is what I carry most, but I do take care of them and keep them clean and in perfect working order. I really like my M&P or XD for when I need to conceal inside the pant or out in the dirt and mud. I do own a couple of Glocks, but they are not my favorite by any means. Yep I have heard all the hoopla on Glock working after being thrown in the mud and do agree they will do better in that type of extreme instance than a 1911. I also know that if you keep a 1911 clean and take the time to work the clearances the 1911 will never miss fire for everyday CC. Just my .02 and not trying to start a debate. Lord knows there have been way too many debates on this subject.
In the end both are as great pistols and everyone is entitled to an opinion.
