Flowood is where I would hang out if I want to be around Jackson. It's a nice little town, designed to grow. Unfortunately, I wouldn't want to be near Jackson, being 20 minutes from Memphis is bad enough.

In MS, I'd stay north of I20, although there are some very nice towns further south. But the south end of MS (some areas) have a rep for being meth areas. I've been some places where I'd see about four teeth in the entire town, and I'm not talking deliverance type of problems.

Tip- De Soto county (my county) is supposedly one of the fastest growing areas of the country. Really I think it's just because of people running away from Memphis, there still isn't a very good job to unemployed worker ratio, I don't care what any newspaper says.

You may want to rethink New Hampshire as well;

Very nice town, birthplace of Elvis and hometown of Paul Thorn.

Oxford is nice too, but I'm not generally fond of college towns.

Tupelo also has a couple of good disc golf courses, a suburban state park that is fun and is located within thirty minutes of my favorite MS state park, Tishimingo (small, pretty, great trails, two awesome disc golf courses).

Not big on Oxfart, but it does have some history (Faulkner & such).

Have you been to Wall Doxey State Park. Nice spring fed lake. Trails and disc golf. Camping is standard loop style. Best thing is, we can leave the drive way and setup the popup in side an hour having an adult beverage.

Yup, I remember when they put in the second disc golf course. Nice small park, but the disc golf courses don't compare to the ones at Tishimingo in difficulty. BTW, you can get there from Senatobia without going to 78; as i recall, you turn off 4 onto some gravel road for the shortcut. Gotta have a cup for that frosty cool beverage though .
