If I could afford to move I would... I can't, Therefore I fight!

Its kinda like the old saying that "I am prepared to give my life defending ____ but my intent is to have my enemy give theirs instead of me giving mine".

Id be happy, happy, happy if we can chase them right out of the country to say England or China, we will all feel allot safer then! There should be no safe haven in a free America for idiots that want to force us all to live like prisoners in our own homes, defenseless accept for the quick dial 911 function on your cellphone!

Not all of us who suggest the GTFO plan are not from NY. i have lived here for 24 years, and in that time I have seen the light. There are problems in this state that will never be fixed. If I stay, my daughter has less future prospects than I did when I graduated high school. Since january 3 companies in my town have decided to close their doors permanently. All production is being moved out of state, here's your pink slip, don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Add to that the local hospital is $7 million in the red, and will be closing it's doors in January, displacing 900 workers, and the economic fall out from that will be devastating. My question is, how does one run a health care network that is sinking to that level just let it happen? Answer, Pizz poor management and no concern for youe employees.

i have seen the light, and I will be leaving in June or July for PA, never to return. Eff NY. I'm out. i have lived elswhere, and I know the grass is greener in a lot of places.

If I were faced with a number of factors such as you are then I would do the same thing. I was referring more to the single issue of 2A rights. I may find in the very near future that I am unable to continue living in CA due to other factors. if I leave it will not be due to the Draconian gun laws here.

Sorry to say it, but at least your getting out while you can. PA ant VT would be the only Two states I'd live in up there if I could still deal with heavy snowfall totals. The last few years on Long Island with the snow and other storms broke me.

I do understand Kfox, Im in a diff place in life than you, our kids are grown, grandkids are from K through 7 and living local and I have a good job that should carry me well into retirement. Our locality isnt far from yours but its much better economically due to a few colleges and Universities and the Turning Stone Casino.

I wont swear we will never move but I doubt it will be any time soon if we do. Ive given 50 years of life to NY and I am going to do my damnedest to get 50 more back from them before Im done.

I agree. One issue is not enough to move over. I have been here for 24 years, and I will miss most of the folks I know in the area. i am only doing what I must for the future of my family. i would have done it sooner, but my grandfather health started to decline about 10 years ago, and he passed away December 30th. Helping take care of him was the only reason I didn't do this about 6 years ago.

I love the snow. I spent the first 9 years of my life in the Komiefornia desert, and love it as well. I like having seasons. Too bad they are only Winter and road repair up here. I think the main thing I miss from my youth is prickly pear jelly. good stuff, we had a prickly pear cactus in the front yard, and mom used to make it every year.

Understandable. if I was in your situation I would do the same. As I told my friends locally, and one in particular when he moved down to Florida, the roads run both ways. Come visit me when you can, and I ;ll still drop by from time to time. I am trying to stay within an hour or 2 of where I live now. i have a handful of family left here, and a bunch of friends that would give the shirt of their back to someone who needs it more. IOW, NY is a great place to visit, but i no longer want or ned to live there. I will try to get a place close to the border so i can still cheer those fighting for their freedom on.
