Well, on the PLUS side in NJ you can extend your permit for an additional 90 days one time, so we have that going for us...

Yeah, though 5 months is a touch over the norm, from I've heard.... usually hear 2-3.

Right?

But apparently "it's always cooler by the shore", so I deal with it.

Default Finally...

Went and picked up my permit this past Sun morning. I got a call saying it was in while after my last post. "Great! Finally!" I'm thinking. Only they spelled my last name wrong! a "Z" instead of an "L" !! Complete other end of the keyboard! But after they put it back through I got a call in < a week... which is fine, since my budget has tightened a bit lately and I'm still trying to save up for a nicer 1911... T'was quite the process. Thanks again to everyone for their help.
Cheers

My father in laws permit took him one week short of a yr to get his here in NY. AND he's a corrections officer and allowed to carry concealed any way. Since then laws were passed stating that it can't take them no longer than 6 months to approve or deny your permit without having a damn good reason. BUT... In this county there is a small blurb on the back that says (to and from the range only) which I think is a complete load of BS.

We have that law too, it clearly states "shall issue" in 30 days max. Problem is that the Courts here have ruled that township LE should not be forced to adhere to an artificial timeline. Yeah I know, WTF? I don't think I should be forced to adhere to an artificial speed limit but doubt I would get a judge to agree.
