Certainly didn't want a 9mm vs .45 thread and I intended this to be a "serious" thread about what you'd choose if they come. Heck, I love 1911s and have a number of them - but I don't think they'd be a great zombie gun. The ammo is heavy and the guns are relatively low capacity. In all the zombie stuff I've seen, they aren't that hearty of a foe so kick-ass ballistics isn't really necessary. To me low recoil and high capacity would be ideally suited for this type of "mission"...

Glock17. I got plenty of them and enough mags to last many lifetimes.

I am really not trying to start a 9mm vs .45 discussion. But don't you think that the most important aspect would be to remove limbs and such. A 9mm is a fine weapon, but since there really is not any nervous system left, the best you could hope for is the best way to amputate them. I don't own a .45, and I own a few 9mm, but this one is a .45, or more all day long. Maybe a Judge would give you the best of both worlds. To bad it is limited to pistols, this is certainly a shotgun situation...

Default Since this is a serious zombie discussion

CZ Sp-01. 18+1rd of 9mm

I'll keep my 1911 in reserve for the real big zombies and any pistol whoopins that need dealt out

I think a good 9mm will do just fine for Zombies...I'm saying XDM or a Glock 17 with some good high cap mags will fit the bill just fine.
