Yes it was. They had no plans on tracking weapons once they crossed the border. Eric Holder was the true architect. The Official record now is hundreds of weapons, the original ATF report stated 2000. Lets not forget a Border agent was killed by one of these. The family should sue Holder, The DOJ, and ATF. These people should be stoned and castrated.

It sounds alot like Chicago politics at work to me and we know Holder didn't come up with the op by himself.

For some time now, the bureaucrats and gun grabbers have been repeating the myth that 90% of the guns used by Mexican drug cartels come from gun stores in the southwestern states. When evidence began pointing to the fact that was not true, the anti freedom crowd had to come up with "evidence" that it was "true," thus giving birth to Fast & Furious / Gun Runner.
It was another example of corrupt government using law enforcement to push a political agenda by manufacturing "evidence" that would "prove" their case. Thanks to a handful of agents who were willing to come forward and blow the proverbial whistle, this sad, sordid affair is being uncovered. Sadly, it is too late to help the thousands of people killed by some of those weapons, including two US agents.
For those who remember "Watergate," and to borrow a phrase from the anti-war crowd; When Nixon Lied, No One Died. Watergate as you may recall, resulted in the resignation of an attorney general, a vice president and a president. To borrow another phrase; What did the president know, and when did he know it?

unfortunately you also need a news media that is willing to tell the truth about obama willingly arming felons and drug cartels so they will purposely murder american citizens to further obama's personal political agenda.
frankly obama should be in prison along with holder for murder of US federal agents.

By that logic, shouldn't Bush be convicted of killing U.S. soldiers and Iraqi civilians in a war that he got us into based on lies? Just sayin'.

Do I understand you correctly; you are comparing the illegal sale of firearms to the cartels, after the Pres. Blames Americans of the same thing, with the Bush administration actions in Iraq? ¡dios mío put the pipe down. And try to lay off the Kool-Aid
