Colt PP .32 S&W Long or .32 Colt New Police. Shipped from Colt July 1928. These are accurate but I doubt I would carry one for self defense.

My Seecamp 32 is a favorite. Practically a handmade gun and hard to find when I got mine 20+ years ago, and expensive. It is designed specifically for Winchester Silvertip ammo.

There is a video online where a guy shoots a .32 acp loaded with FMJ thru 4 layers of denim and it penetrates 14 inches in ballistic gel. I would say that will protect you. Remember the police carried .32 acp in Europe for many years, and also many people were killed with the .32 acp. Don't underestimate the .32 acp as a defense gun. Plus with light recoil you can put two or three rounds in center mass quickly.

I only have 2 but my NAA .32 has been a great companion in a small package. I use the Federal Hydra Shok JHP and find it somewhat adequate for SD considering it's size. My ca.1906 Colt SAA(factory converted from Bisley)32-20 is a pleasure to shoot and has a good classic look as well. I wouldn't recommend carrying the 32-20 for SD though they are extremely accurate.

The 32-20 is the smallest .32 usually considered an effective defensive .32 caliber.

There were a number of famous people who carried the 32-20 because they were an easy round to shoot in any revolver and accuracy using that round in the Bisley matches was proven without question. Not to digress, but the 44 Russian is another extremely accurate round, but can be used effectively for defense if need be. But my reason for not recommending the 32-20 for carrying with defense being the purpose is, because unlike the .32acp the manufacturers aren't making an effective round for that purpose, unless I'm perhaps out of touch with what's available these days. I have to be excused since I'm an admitted dinosaur.

If you can find a Bersa Thunder .32 acp grab it. I have one and it is a nice shooter, dependable and accurate. 10 round mags
